Last Updated: 27/05/2026

  1. Important Notice

Mystic Wellness Ltd provides complementary holistic wellbeing services only.

We do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and no services offered—including sound healing, gong baths, meditation, breathwork, or Reiki are intended as a substitute for professional medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.

No medical claims are made, either explicitly or implicitly.

These sessions involve relaxation-based techniques, breath awareness, sound frequencies, vibration, and energy-based practices which may produce strong physical, emotional, or psychological responses in some individuals.

Clients are responsible for ensuring they are medically and personally suitable to participate.

Where appropriate, clients are strongly advised to consult their GP or healthcare professional before attending sessions, particularly where pre-existing health conditions are present.

Participation is entirely voluntary and constitutes informed acceptance of all known and reasonably foreseeable risks associated with complementary wellbeing practices.

  1. General Safety Guidance

All participants must take personal responsibility for their wellbeing and disclose any relevant health conditions before attending.

Participation is voluntary, and clients may withdraw at any time. Mystic Wellness Ltd reserves the right to refuse or adapt participation where there is concern for safety.

This policy is designed to support safe participation and is aligned with general duty of care principles under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 where applicable.

Mystic Wellness Ltd does not accept liability where a client fails to disclose relevant medical, psychological, or physical conditions that may affect participation.

  1. Sound Baths and Gong Healing Contraindications

Sound healing sessions using instruments such as Vedic/Himalayan bowls, Crystal bowls, Gongs, Drums, and other vibrational tools produce strong acoustic and physical vibrations that may not be suitable for everyone.

Clients should exercise caution and seek medical advice if they have any of the following:

(This list is not exhaustive, and clients are responsible for disclosing any condition that may reasonably affect safe participation.)

  • Neurological Conditions: Epilepsy or seizure disorders (certain sound frequencies may act as potential triggers). Severe neurological sensitivity or conditions affected by sensory stimulation.
  • Mental Health Considerations: Severe anxiety, PTSD, trauma-related conditions, psychosis, or dissociative disorders (sound may trigger emotional release or overwhelm). History of severe panic responses to sensory stimuli.
  • Pregnancy: Particularly in early or late pregnancy, clients should consult their GP or midwife before attending.
  • Cardiac Conditions: Heart conditions or use of pacemakers (vibrational sound may require medical approval).
  • Implants and Medical Devices: Metal implants, surgical plates, or prosthetics where vibration sensitivity may be a concern.
  • Recent Surgery or Injury: Open wounds, recent operations, or healing tissue where vibration may cause discomfort.
  • Sound Sensitivity: Hyperacusis or heightened sensitivity to sound or vibration.
  • Substance Use: Clients must not attend under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
  1. Breathwork and Meditation Contraindications

Breathwork and guided meditation practices may influence the nervous system and emotional state.

Caution is advised for individuals with:

  • History of panic attacks or severe anxiety disorders.
  • Cardiovascular conditions or breathing disorders such as asthma or COPD.
  • Epilepsy or seizure-related conditions.
  • Severe mental health conditions where altered breathing states may cause distress.
  • Pregnancy, depending on technique intensity.

Clients must always inform the practitioner before participation if they have any concerns.

Breathwork is always optional, and clients may pause or stop at any time.

Clients acknowledge that breathwork may temporarily intensify emotional or physical sensations and agree to participate at their own discretion.

  1. Reiki Contraindications and Medical Disclaimer

Reiki is a non-invasive, energy-based complementary therapy that involves gentle or non-contact hand placement or hands-off energy work.

Reiki is suitable for most individuals but:

  • It is not a medical treatment or diagnosis method.
  • It does not replace medical care or psychological treatment.
  • It does not involve physical manipulation or invasive techniques.

Clients with serious medical conditions, mental health concerns, or ongoing treatment should continue to consult their GP or healthcare provider alongside receiving Reiki if they choose.

Reiki may produce emotional responses such as relaxation, release, or increased awareness, which vary from person to person. Reiki outcomes are subjective and cannot be predicted, guaranteed, or medically validated.

  1. Client Responsibility and Disclosure

Clients are responsible for:

  • Disclosing any relevant medical, psychological, or physical conditions prior to attending.
  • Seeking professional advice where unsure of suitability.
  • Informing the practitioner of discomfort at any point during a session.
  • Making an informed decision about participation.

Mystic Wellness Ltd operates in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and expects clients to engage with services responsibly and voluntarily.

Failure to disclose relevant health information may result in refusal of service, termination of session, or restriction of future access where safety is impacted.

  1. Children (Under 18 Safeguarding Requirements) and Vulnerable Adults

We may provide complementary therapy, holistic wellness services, or related supportive sessions to individuals under the age of 18, and to vulnerable adults, only in limited and controlled circumstances, subject to strict safeguarding requirements.

These include:

  • prior written informed consent from a parent or legal guardian (for children), or appropriate consent from the individual or their authorised representative where applicable (for vulnerable adults);
  • verification of parental responsibility, legal authority, or decision-making capacity where reasonably required;
  • mandatory presence of the parent or legal guardian throughout the entire session where services are provided to minors;
  • assessment that the service is appropriate for the individual’s age, needs, capacity, and wellbeing; and
  • the absolute right of Mystic Wellness Ltd to refuse, pause, or terminate any session where safeguarding concerns arise.

Where services are provided to children, the parent or legal guardian remains responsible for supervision, safeguarding, and participation throughout the session. Where services are provided to vulnerable adults, appropriate support persons may be required or involved where necessary and in accordance with best interests principles and applicable safeguarding law.

Services will not be delivered to children or vulnerable adults unless all safeguarding requirements are fully satisfied, and where we reasonably consider it safe, appropriate, and within our competence and insurance cover to do so.

  1. Safeguarding and Professional Limits

All services delivered to children (under 18) and vulnerable adults are provided in accordance with applicable safeguarding best practice, practitioner competence, insurance requirements, and UK law.

We do not provide medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, or emergency healthcare intervention, and our services must not be used as a substitute for medical, psychological, psychiatric, or emergency care.

Practitioners will only work within the limits of their training, competence, and professional insurance coverage.

Where appropriate, we may recommend referral to a suitably qualified healthcare professional, safeguarding authority, or relevant support service where concerns arise, particularly where there are risks relating to safety, wellbeing, or capacity.

Where there is immediate risk of harm, we may contact emergency services or safeguarding authorities without delay.

We may refuse, pause, or discontinue services where we reasonably believe it is not safe, appropriate, or in the best interests of the individual to continue.

All safeguarding decisions involving children or vulnerable adults will be made in line with UK safeguarding guidance and applicable legal duties, prioritising the safety and best interests of the individual at all times.

Continuation of services remains subject to ongoing safeguarding assessment and professional judgement.

We may only proceed with services where it is appropriate, safe, and within our professional competence, training, and insurance cover to do so.

  1. Safety, Suitability and Referrals

Clients (or their parent, legal guardian, or authorised representative where applicable) are responsible for informing us of any relevant medical conditions, psychological conditions, medications, disabilities, capacity considerations, or safeguarding concerns prior to receiving services.

Where services are provided to children (under 18) or vulnerable adults, information must be disclosed by a parent, legal guardian, or appropriate representative where the individual is not able to provide informed disclosure themselves.

We may carry out suitability assessments before or during services to ensure the service is appropriate, safe, and within our competence and insurance coverage.

We reserve the right to refuse, pause, or discontinue services where we reasonably consider that it is not safe, appropriate, or in the best interests of the client to proceed.

Where appropriate, we may recommend referral to a suitably qualified healthcare professional, safeguarding authority, or other relevant support service.

Where there is concern about safety, wellbeing, or capacity, we may take safeguarding action in accordance with UK law and professional guidance, including escalation to relevant authorities where necessary.

All decisions will prioritise the safety, wellbeing, and best interests of the individual.

  1. Right to Refuse or Modify Participation

Mystic Wellness Ltd reserves the right to refuse, modify, or adapt any service, session, or participation where we reasonably consider it necessary for safety, suitability, safeguarding, or professional reasons.

This applies to all clients, including children (under 18) and vulnerable adults, and where applicable, decisions may involve parents, legal guardians, or authorised representatives in line with safeguarding requirements and capacity considerations.

We may:

  • refuse participation where a contraindication presents a safety concern;
  • refuse or modify participation where safeguarding concerns arise, or where appropriate consent, parental consent, guardian involvement, or authorised representation requirements are not met;
  • adapt or modify the session format, content, or delivery to support client safety, wellbeing, or accessibility needs;
  • recommend alternative approaches or referral to a suitably qualified healthcare professional, safeguarding authority, or relevant support service where appropriate; and
  • discontinue or pause a session where it is not safe or appropriate to continue.

Where services involve vulnerable adults, decisions will take into account capacity considerations in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and actions will be taken in the individual’s best interests where appropriate.

All decisions under this section are made in good faith in the interest of client safety, safeguarding, and professional duty of care. Decisions may be final where safety, safeguarding, or legal concerns are identified.

Continuation of services is always subject to ongoing professional judgement, safeguarding assessment, and compliance with applicable UK law and insurance requirements.
